JSONP  or " JSON  with padding" is a communication technique used in  JavaScript  programs running in web browsers to request data from a server in a different domain, something prohibited by typical web browsers because of the  same-origin policy . JSONP takes advantage of the fact that browsers do not enforce the same-origin policy on 

The difference is that  apply  lets you invoke the function with arguments as an array;  call requires the parameters be listed explicitly. A useful mnemonic is "A for array and C for comma." They're actually really similar. How you call them is exactly the same, but the difference lies in how the browser loads them into the execution context. function declarations loads before any code is executed.  While function expressions loads only when the interpreter reaches that line of code. So if you try to call a function expression before it's loaded, you'll get an error But if you call a function declaration, it'll always work. You can just check if the  variable  has a  truthy  value or not. That means if ( value ) { } will evaluate to  true  if  value  is not: null undefined NaN empty string ("") 0 false The above list represents all possible  falsy  values in ECMA-/Javascript. Find it in the  specification  at the  ToBoolean  section. Furthermore, if you don't  know  whether a variable exists (that means, if it was  declared ) you should check with the  typeof  operator.
